Description
Dark red, white belt and blaze, silver ears. Lahaina is another one of our airplane arrivals,
having joined our herd in March 2008 from Kastdemur's Dairy Goats in Redding, CA. As a
closed, CAE free herd, we rarely find a reason to add from the outside; so when we do, it's
a big deal. When I decided to reserve a doe out of Laguna Beach and Audacious, I found
several reasons to do so. I wanted to compliment my herd with the Lassenwood lines and
especially the pedigree of Crown Kailua, Lahaina's DDD. Lahaina also comes from the
breedings of champions; such as her SD, Aubree, the 2001 ADGA National Champion &
Best Udder plus the 2002 ADGA Reserve National Champion & Best Udder. Aubree's also
the DD to Temerity, who surprised no one as we later watched her win the 2008 ADGA
National Champion & Best Udder in our own backyard of Louisville, KY. In 2009 at the
ADGA Nationals in Sacremento, Laguna Beach placed 5th/2nd udder in the 3 year old
class. Kastdemur's Corona Del Mar (Lahaina half sister) placed 2nd in the Intermediate
Kid class.
Lahaina is very friendly, but very jealous if I pet another goat. She'll get in between me and
whomever. I guess that's a result of her coming to us so young. When she was first
introduced to our herd, the girls butted her around and I defended her. But she is definitely
part of the herd now.
